Details
The first of many projects to be completed with Extraspace Solutions, Paxton Primary School is a state of the art, 3FE School built to accommodate 720 children.
With a build cost of £8.25 Million, and a total floor area of 3736m2, this school in the London Borough of Lambeth has 28 washrooms over three stories, which cater for students from ages 3 – 11.
Brief
Cube Install Ltd took on the responsibility to complete this design and build contract to the client’s time and price constraints.
Quoting against some tight prices, we value engineered our price for SGL toilet cubicles throughout the school into a budget that was acceptable to the client and ensured they had a product that would stand the test of time.
Solution
Speed of construction was key as the new school was replacing the existing school on the same site and so once the contract went live we had 4 weeks to carry out our survey, issue approval drawings, start manufacture and mobilise an install team for the first phase of the washroom installation.
There were challenges along the way with underfloor heating pipes inhibiting any floor fixings and changes to room layouts to accommodate client requests, but with our fluid approach and perseverance we completed the project on time and with no additional costs.
